BBC7 http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7 will air Slipback, the Colin
Baker/Nicola Bryant Doctor Who audio drama, on 3 successive
Saturdays at 6:40PM and 12:40AM British Standard Time. See links
below to listen live with realplayer or windows media player or to
hear an archive on realplayer.
BBC Kids http://www.bbckids.ca has released their fall schedule. As of Monday 6 September, Doctor Who will move to 2AM EDT (1AM CDT, Midnight MDT, 11PM PDT, 3AM ADT, 3:30AM Newfoundland). 2 episodes weekdays, complete stories weekends. Only one airing per day, not two. Catch the 2AM Eastern showing, or none at all. Unlike the last time BBC Kids changed time slots, they will not be going back to the start of Tom Baker's era again. Instead, they will be continuing the current run of stories.
Maryland Public TV http://www.mpt.org has two interesting Doctor Who developments on their September schedule. Starting September 18, episodes will have variable start times so they can end at 1:30AM EDT (11:55PM start time September 18, 11:53PM start time September 25). More significantly, the schedule shows them skipping the first 4 seasons of Tom Baker, going straight from Planet of the Spiders to The Ribos Operation. MPT has skipped Doctors in their rotation before, but never the majority of a Tom Baker run before.
UKTV Gold (and UKTV Gold + 1) http://www.ukgold.tv will be pre- empting Doctor Who on the weekend of August 28/29. Yup, yet another Bank Holiday weekend. And yup, they're pre-empting Who with a Carry On movie marathon. Eventually they're going to air Doctor Who on a Bank Holiday weekend and throw us for a loop.
Slight correction to last week's report on Iowa Public TV's http://www.iptv.org launch of digital signals. The simulcast of the regular IPTV lineup seems to be on subchannel 3, not subchannel 1. If you want to watch Doctor Who on one of the digital IPTV stations (see list in IPTV entry), turn to subchannel 3.
KTEH/KCAH http://www.kteh.org 54,25 San Jose/Monterey, CA is trying to drum up support to relaunch their Sunday sci-fi night with a 3 hour (4 episode) marathon of Red Dwarf on Sunday. Selected episodes (Back To Reality, Stoke Me A Clipper, Backwards, Gunmen Of The Apocalypse) will air. Here's hoping the night is successful. Maybe they can bring back the Doctor if they hear that the support is out there.
